Osborne recently announced on LinkedIn that he's leaving Jagex after 15 years of editing content as well as narrative design and lead design
OSRS Buy Gold. He made the decision according to his own words, to "test his experience within the business." Osborne is leaving Jagex and will join Square Enix on the publishing side, where he will be a Senior Designer. He'll oversee "some amazing games" starting with Outriders.
The revelation prompted Redditor FatNWackyRS to contact the r/Outriders community with a brief message on Mod Osborne and his role as the "warm and friendly "Dad" face of Jagex." FatNWackyRS describes the many things that Osborne has been doing for the community over the years, and includes some videos, including appearing as Mod Elfborne to help promote Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape) and joining livestreams and assisting with Jagex's mission.
Some communities or gamers might be upset at losing a well-known company name, FatNWackyRS invited other Runescape players to post their stories. One participant, for instance, claims that they've won and lost in their time playing simultaneously in Runescape as well as Outriders. Some were thrilled by this announcement, including those who have never had a conversation with Osborne prior to this glowing recommendation from an individual in the Runescape community.
In fact, what exactly happens on the other part of the Outriders fence is yet to be determined, but players know that a lot of positive things are coming into the sport. Outriders' Worldslayer expansion is scheduled to be announced in the spring, and is scheduled to launch in the coming year as well as beyond. People Can Fly has a number of other projects being developed, including a game that will be developed with Square Enix
